I've been incorporating Gua sha into my skincare practice since 2012, but the stones weren't so readily available as they are now. Back then I often recommended clients to use spoons or small thick glass serum bottles to smooth out tight muscles (jade rollers weren't a thing yet). Presently there are so many stones & rollers out there, but where do you buy them? Well, ideally we have some in stock at Potion, but since the Covid-19 pandemic hit China in December we have been unable to restock our stones. Gua Sha is an ancient Chinese modality & the stones are still made exclusively in China. Until we are able to stock some beautiful stones from our suppliers we will just refer you to Amazon: Here is a link for a set of 7 stones that you'll be able to explore how each has a different touch & benefit. We are happy to coach you via zoom or in person (6 ft apart of course).
These stones will break if you drop it on a hard surface, but we believe that if you treat the stone right, it will treat you right for years.
(^A beautiful limited edition dalmation jasper stone that we sold out of quickly this year.)
This post will be a perpetually evolving blog on Gua Sha so always check back in to see what we've added.
We will be inserting a video here on our favorite ways to practice gua sha, massage mediums, prep, and post for this essential treatment.
